Emergency Fund

Aside from the devastation caused by the earthquake, the reality is that the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and The Dominican Republic) will be impacted by future hurricanes, cyclones and heavy rain.

Earthquake Recovery

In light of the earthquake that decimated Haiti on January 12th, 2010, ICC is in the process of dealing with the numerous needs of displaced earthquake victims. Thousands of people are living in the 13 slums surrounding Grace Children's Hospital. These  “tent cities” are breathing grounds of sickness and disease, and ICC is responding to the medical needs of these people.

Reconstruction of Grace Children's Hospital

Due to the earthquake of January 12th 2010, Grace Children’s Hospital sustained tremendous structural damages, leaving 90% of the facility’s structure severely compromised and unsafe to use. Currently, ICC is running all of its programs and services outdoors on the hospital grounds under tents and in open areas. ICC is embarking on a 2- year program, headed by the Relief and Reconstruction Office, to reconstruct Grace Children’s Hospital from the foundation up.

HIV/AIDS in Haiti

HIV/AIDS is the greatest health crisis our world faces today. In Haiti, more than 200,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS – that's 3.8% of the population. Since the mid 1990s, Grace Children´s Hospital has provided medical support and counseling to patients living with HIV.

In 2005, critical Anti-Retroviral (ARV) treatment services were also added, thanks to partnerships with the U.S.

Meet Mission Encounter Teams

We invite you to be transformed this year...

Take a trip to Haiti and/or the Dominican Republic and learn, first hand, about the power of God's love at work in the mission field. At International Child Care, we believe that the first step toward change is understanding, and we invite you to take that step as a member of a Mission Education Encounter Team (MEET). You will have the opportunity to play and interact with children recovering at Grace Children's Hospital, visit a community health clinic, or join a rehabilitation worker on a home visit in the Dominican Republic.

Integrated Community Health

Empowering an entire community to care for the health of its children is powerful, effective and sustainable.

Grace Children's Hospital

Grace Children’s Hospital, founded in 1967, is the flagship ministry of International Child Care. Grace Children’s Hospital is recognized as Haiti’s leading medical facility dedicated to the treatment of children with tuberculosis (TB). Each year, the hospital receives thousands of children who are suffering from TB, HIV and other diseases.

Children who are seriously ill are admitted to the sixty-bed inpatient ward, where they receive constant care from the hospital’s all-Haitian staff.

Rehabilitation for Disabled Children

People with disabilities face challenges no matter where they live, but it is especially difficult to live with a disability in developing countries like the Dominican Republic.

Maternal Health Care Project

Maternal Health Care Project - the answer to a desperate need for pre/postnatal health care in Northern Haiti

Every woman has the right to basic medical treatment. An expectant mother should have the right to a healthy pregnancy-devoid of the fear of death or the loss of her baby.
