World Medical Relief Donation Recognized

World Medical Relief, a Detroit, Mich.-based relief organization, was honored this week by International Child Care for their extraordinary generosity to ICC Haiti following the earthquake on January 12. The organization donated a shipping container, valued at nearly $600,000, filled with medical and relief supplies to assist ICC Haiti in earthquake recovery.

The container included medicines, sheets and blankets, surgical and hospital supplies and orthopedic supplies to aid those who lost limbs in the earthquake. The items were donated by generous corporations and non-profits, including Rotary International and the United Methodist Church. Volunteers came to the World Medical Relief warehouse in Detroit to pack the container, which shipped in February.

In thanks for their generosity, ICC USA National Director Keith Mumma visited the World Medical Relief offices on July 22 to present a plaque and convey the thanks of ICC for this support. He presented George Samson, World Medical Relief CEO and President, with a plaque thanking the organization for their support.
